Introducing the #homegrownartcontest Land to Learn & Compass Arts invite you to let your creativity blossom by using vegetables to make art of any kind, including visual arts, music, dance, & theatre! Everyone who enters the contest will receive their very own garden kit!! 4 lucky contestants will be selected to win grand prizes: EarthBox Grow Kits! All other contestants will receive a Land To Learn Garden-At-Home Kit (while supplies last)! All prizes will be available by p...ick up in Beacon, Newburgh, or Kingston, NY. The #HomeGrownArtContest begins today (Friday, January 15th) and will conclude in a month from now (Monday, February 15th). Our grand prize winners will be announced on Monday, March 1st. All contestants must be 18 years old or younger. Compass Arts is SOOOOOO close to our end of year fundraising goal!! 90%! We have 4 days to raise $1,521 and reach our goal. The arts are something our youth need more than ever right now; to be empowered through the creative process and given agency during a time when there seems to be so little within their control. As founder and director, Gina Samardge says: "The arts have gotten me through some of the darkest times in my life - empowering me, healing me, giving me a reas...on to keep getting out of bed each day. Tonight was the last night of our three-part felting workshop. What a fantastic group! This class was special in that it allowed for ALL ages to participate in a fun, open ended process. The pieces here were made by grown ups, as well as 8 & 9 year old artists. Stay tuned for dates for our January felting classes!
