The second round of Concept Club and I’m speechless over the work these ladies put in Our group this month included girls who professionally dance, dance with us regular, have danced but never in heels and never danced at all... and they all absolutely dedicated themselves to learn, perfect and perform this concept. I love this process because it’s personalized and not one dance is the same as the next. We create sections of the dance that are unique choreography to each ...dancer’s style and ability. I love seeing their own personal style show through when we get to meet in studio and create these moments! Such a fun change up from my usual style of teaching (you know I like that upbeat fast work!). This was soothing and breathtaking to change it up, and I’m so thankful for those who trusted us to create the setting to show off their beauty inside and out! Feeling so motivated today after an amazing weekend! In grade school this boy would accidentally trip and touch my chest, or brush up against my skirt. Finally one day in the lunch line he flipped my skirt and said oops, so I turned around and sucker punched him in the stomach and said oops. * Then I immediately went to the Principal and told on myself.... he got in trouble. lol Moral of the story... be your own hero, be so proud of YOU that you won’t allow disrespect, and be your own #wcw EVERYDAY. ... Maybe don’t revert to violence like young Meghan but... you get the picture. Last week Brandon Freeman and I were called to perform in honor of a dear friend’s sister who passed away suddenly due to an illness. Dancing at a funeral? I had the same thoughts you’re thinking right now. In my friends culture performing in honor of your loved ones is how funerals are conducted and it was an experience I’ll never forget. I met my friend Veronica over 10 years ago while dancing her choreography in numerous showcases and companies. To say her style of dance... is out of my comfort zone is an understatement, but her pieces are always an amazing challenge with incredible meaning behind each dance. When she called me and asked if I would dance in honor of her sister, there was no question I would be there. This piece by fair has been the most challenging dance I’ve ever performed for her. Not because of the technique, but because of how personal and raw Veronica had to be while creating this on the spot. Brandon and I learned this in one day, reviewed it and then it was go time. It was a tough process between all the tears but I hope we gave it the justice it deserves. I can’t thank Brandon enough for being up for the challenge of this unique dance performance. He has attended ConfiDANCE classes only a few times and we have never partnered together but let me tell you how effortless it was. Such an incredible dancer and he really rose to the occasion in order to honor Anita properly with me. Anita always attended Veronica’s shows, they were incredibly close sisters and I can’t begin to understand the pain my friend is feeling right now, but I know this tribute was the best way to give my condolences. Rest In Peace beautiful, and thank you Veronica for allowing us to do this for your sister and family

A girl who surprises me everytime! You have always been able to dance but then you go home and practice just a little and you end up coming back and rocking it! So excited that we got you in heels because you belong in them! Amazing lines, and you always work that pony tail! It’s so refreshing to dance with you every time.
