Corinth First United Methodist Church 10.11.2020

Will you be at church at 11:15? I am seeking your input. Currently, many in our church have been recently affected by the virus or quarantined for two weeks at a time. In our council, there are many who cannot risk being exposed or quarantined because of the need to be able to visit loved ones in sensitive areas, such as nursing homes. Additionally, we recognize the many at risk members within our church. These factors have led us to the view that we should wait another month... to reopen, however, I would like to find out who will come if we reopen earlier. Below are the requirements given to us by our leadership and our state authorities. Please read them before you answer, and if you post yes, then please message Jason Proctor and let me know you will be there, or email me at [email protected]. Currently, COVID regulations limit us to 1/3 of our occupancy, that each of us wear masks, that we keep no hymnals, Bibles, or cushions in the pews, that we practice social distancing, and refrain from singing. And, so no one person has to clean the sanctuary, I am asking we each clean the pew and the surrounding area where we have been seated before we leave. I'm so glad for the privilege to be a part of this family. Thank you for your continued support and encouraging words. We are blessed to have each other.

Dear Corinth and Middle Grove Families, it has been such a wonderful six months for me. I’m so grateful to be a part of your homes. Thank you for the love, laughter, friendship, and leadership as you serve our communities. You’re easy to love. You’re an inspiration to me and to many. Merry Christmas. I’m looking forward to learning together in 2019. Holy Spirit, speak your love and your dreams in to our lives this coming year. God, have your way. Help us stay out of the way. Amen.

Kay Pike fell Sunday and broke her hip. They put pins in her leg on Monday. Keep her in your prayers. She had her usual pleasant smile and fun loving spirit. I took her a Hershey’s bar, Ruth LaPier Lee. I told her the back of the label says Good for broken hips. You will be jumping in no time! We shared some good times. She sends her greetings.

I just met a mother who said I want my baby girl to have the same faith that I have. I love dedicating babies. The world makes sense, again.I just met a mother who said I want my baby girl to have the same faith that I have. I love dedicating babies. The world makes sense, again.

Corinth First is beautiful inside. When I look at this building, I think of people who, more than a hundred years ago, gave their lives so we could have this, today. I think of the faithfulness of our people. Your hearts are big. Thank you for giving your life to God and to this community. God, keep shining your beautiful light through us.

Today I had the privilege to visit with this beautiful example of faith. She was born in 1924 - that makes her 94! She works hard. She is sharp as a tack, young at heart, and truly a kind soul. She is at church every week and is quick to jump in and help. I caught her washing dishes two Sundays ago. We are better because of people like Dorothy Atwell. She is an inspiration. Be sure to say thank you if she has touched your life. It’s always right to give honor to whom honor is due, so do it. Photo used with permission.

I told Pastor Bonnie that I loved this, so she left it for me. I love looking at it every day. Thank you, PB
