"The very character of God is love. He is divine love and He initiated love in our heart and inner soul. It is only because of His love for us that we are able to love Him back. But the love that He gives is not the broken human love that was tainted by sin, but the love of Christ that is placed within. How wonderful to know that we are not only the object of God's divine love, but that His desire is that we reciprocate His love. By His grace He has poured the love of Chris...t into our inner being so that we can love with the same supernatural love with which we are loved. His love for us must convert to love for others so the world will know Him. It’s a virtuous cycle that conquers the vicious cycle of this world’s discord and division. As you go through your day today, pray and ask God to show you one or two people who need to be loved like Jesus loves them, and then show love to them. Or maybe YOU need a reminder of how much God loves you and wants you to truly know Him. Knowing God's peace, perspective and purpose for your life begins with a personal relationship with Jesus. If we truly want to know what a Bible verse or passage means, we have to read it in context. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:11-13 ... "I can do all things" is the ministry that God has sent Paul to do. He can persevere, share the gospel, and be content in any situation. Not on his own, but through Christ who strengthens him. Despite being destitute, Paul was not discouraged, because He had discovered his sufficient strength was in Christ. He understood that he could live a triumphant Christian life, no matter what troubles assailed him - not because of his own human strength or charismatic character, but through the indwelling Spirit of Christ Who provides the strength and wisdom we need in every situation in life. This verse is so misused because many interpret all things as anything, & not all the things Paul has talked about. It’s not a blanket endorsement that God will support anything we set out to do and empower us to do whatever impossible things we can imagine. It’s an assurance that we can do whatever God calls us to do, NOT whatever we decide to do."
