Feast of St. Casimir. March 4, His name is St. Casimir (Kazimierz), and his statue is in the Southwest corner of the vestibule of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Church, Mother Church of Polonia. Known as the patron of Poland and Lithuania, he was born in Krakow. Despite his father’s objections, he forged a life of his own. He gave everything he had to the needy, lived a life of purity and prayer, and actively protested unjust wars and the mistreatment of the poor. He ha...d a great devotion to the Eucharist and to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Daily he would recite the hymn Daily, daily, Sing to Mary. Admiring the statue of the young saint, Father Michal Czyzewski can be seen climbing the stairs to the church’s choir loft. He noted that on Thursday, March 4, 2021, we will be celebrating St. Casimir’s feast day. He invites everyone to visit St. Stanislaus Church and stop by the beautiful statue of St. Casimir. He also invites everyone to participate in singing the Lenten Lamentations, Gorzkie ale, immediately following the Sunday 12 noon Polish radio Mass. This beautiful tradition recalls the Passion of Christ and the sorrows of His Blessed Mother with the final refrain: Który za nas cierpia rany,..." or You who suffered wounds for us. See more

To mark the occasion, the Holy Father has proclaimed a Year of Saint Joseph from today, 8 Dec. 2020, to 8 Dec. 2021. Prayer to St Joseph ( Pope Francis) ... Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary. To you God entrusted his only Son; in you Mary placed her trust; with you Christ became man. Blessed Joseph, to us too, show yourself a father and guide us in the path of life. Obtain for us grace, mercy, and courage, and defend us from every evil. Amen.
Today - January 22, Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children A great prayer for life is urgently needed, a prayer which will rise up throughout the world. Through special initiatives and in daily prayer, may an impassioned plea rise to God, the Creator and lover of life, from every Christian community, from every group and association, from every family and from the heart of every believer. Our latest bulletin. Have a blessed week.
You may have noticed that our church is decorated for Christmas. In Polish tradition, carols are sung and manger scenes and decorations are often kept up until Feb. 2. The Polish American Radio Program continues to play koldy (Polish Christmas carols) every weekend through January. We are grateful to parishioners Janusz and Boena Serafin for sponsoring an ad for our church during the program which you can hear at the link. The regular broadcasts are on Saturdays at 11 a.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m. on WebrRadio.com and 1440 AM. https://soundcloud.com//the-polish-american-program-116202
