A Tip from Country Squire Realty Here are some reasons why you should consider selling your house now. The information below will help you in your decision. A ...common falsehood is that houses don't sell in the winter. This is false. Serious buyers are out looking now. Often a decision to buy is based on a number of factors. A job transfer amongst the people involved, a need to be close to family for various situations, retirement and numerous others. There is less competition because there are fewer listings available. Supply and demand is the thing to remember. There are serious buyers out there at all times. Agents have more time to work with both buyers and seller due to lighter schedules. If you are considering selling your real estate please contact Country Squire Realty and we would be happy to give you an idea of a realistic price that you can expect. This is at No Cost to you. You can reach Country Squire at 607-369-HOME(4663) we would be more than happy to help you. See more
Just a short drive from our office. An amazing little town with a lot of character from its days as a sulfer baths resort town. Abandoned resorts and modern shops like Beekman 1802. Country Squire Realty 607-369-4663

The historic Village of Cherry Valley, 10 miles from Sharon Springs, has had its ups and downs over the centuries, and 2020, of course, has been a tough year. A... number of commercial spaces are sitting empty due to the challenging economic climate and, while some businesses successfully carry on, a pall has settled over the quaint town, which dates to 1739. With another dark winter descending, two local residents decided to do something about it: Why not create and install window displays, inspired by old-fashioned commercial holiday windows, in order to add beauty and light to some darkened storefronts in the downtown district? Organizing other local residents and artists, and with the gracious cooperation of building owners, curator Jessica Marx (a former Team Beekman member!) assigned one empty space to each participant, to decorate with their own imaginative themes. Anne Loretto, who conceived the idea and is a participant, commented, I hope we make people feel a little happier, more amused, entertained, engaged. I hope residents and visitors on foot will enjoy the installations, and I hope drivers passing through will appreciate them as well. Especially in this time of illness and anxiety, shut-downs and social distancing, I want to make a display that says: We’re still here! There are 13 installation artists working in eight different spaces. The Village’s distinctive stone and wood storefronts placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988 - will host fanciful and colorful seasonal displays. Jessica says, The community and building owners have all been so supportive and excited to have these stores come back to life in this transition time. Existing businesses will add more lights to their displays, and several people are working in collaboration with professional artists to pull it all together. Cherry Valley has a long history as an artist community, and I really see this as a natural and timely extension of that. The window installations, which will be up through February. So, if you are coming to visit Beekman 1802 Mercantile plan a little time to take a safe, outdoor stroll through historic downtown Cherry Valley, and discover what can happen when a community coalesces to proclaim: We’re still here!
