CPC Brooklyn Community Services partnered with supporters to deliver 250 care packages to the door steps of older adults and special needs community members today. The covid pandemic has been devastating to an immigrant community. It is more important than ever to reach out and support our neighbors and let them know we are all in this together and we are thinking of them. CARE PACKAGES included, scarves, gloves, blankets, PPEs (KN95 masks, hand sanitizers, faceshields), her...bal tea, red pockets, calendars, and much more. We want to thank our legislative partners for supporting this event. AM Peter Abbate, State Senator Andrew Gounardes , Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams , Council Member Carlos Menchaca and Councilman Justin Brannan . Shout out to our sponsors and donors who made this event possible. Humana , UnitedHealthcare , Affinity Health Plan , Brooklyn Food & Beverage , MetroPlus Health , Heart of Dinner, Investors Bank, Parent Child Relationship Association and Wellcare. Special thanks to all the volunteers, board members, and staff who took the time to deliver care packages to community members and sending out warm wishes. #advancingourcommunity #givingcare

Cpc Brooklyn Community Services will once again partner with Street Vendor Project and relaunch a food distribution initiative this Saturday, 1/23/2021, at 1PM outside CPC's Brooklyn Community Center. A great big thank you to Stavros Niarchos Foundation for funding this project to support Street food providers and bringing much needed food relief to an immigrant community devastated by the COVID pandemic. Food is freshly prepared and will be distributed on a first come first serve basis while meals last. Please be mindful of social distancing and masks are required. Please feel free to share!!

We are extremely proud of the older adult community members who have continued to attend our virtual ESL classes in the face of the pandemic. It is never a bad time to learn. Thanks to the community members who have shared their work with us. #advancingourcommunity

CPC Brooklyn Community Services is very excited to congratulate our past CPC naturalization students Ms. Wu and Mr. Weng. Both students passed their exams and were sworn in as U.S. Citizens in late 2020. Prior to submitting their Application for Naturalization, both students attended CPC Brooklyn Community Services Naturalization Classes and continued to re-enroll in the classes to further prepare for their exam. Their determination and dedication, in and outside of the clas...sroom, greatly increased their proficiency and pushed them towards a path of success! Through hard work and encouragement from our instructors, Ms. Wu and Mr. Weng were able to successfully pass their exams on the first try. In addition to being newly sworn in U.S. Citizens, Ms. Wu's daughter and Mr. Weng's daughter both have derived citizenship and are also now U.S. Citizens. CPC Brooklyn Community Services Office for New Americans were able to also help them apply for their Certificate of Citizenship. We encourage all eligible community members to join our Free Online Citizenship Class and start their path towards becoming a U.S. Citizen. For more information on our classes or on USCIS application preparation, please reach out to Shuping Deng, ONA Program Supervisor at (917) 528 - 3273 or at [email protected]. Funding for this program is made possible through the New York State Office for New Americans.
