So in love with the paintings our preschoolers are making this week! We gave them acrylic paint & cardboard shapes, and talked about being color explorers and finding new colors. We also told them they were getting grown up paint, but that we trusted them and believe in them as artists and people. ... Right away we could feel a little boost to their self confidence and the room instantly got quiet with concentration. Art really is such a wonderful way to remind kids how great they already are

Through our classes, our goal is to empower children with the tools to connect with each other, with themselves, and the world. We currently need help with both upcoming classes and assistance packing supply boxes at our Dobbs Ferry school. With the change in curriculum due to covid, our job needs have changed a bit. We're looking for someone that has some flexibility and interest in a few areas. We will need help with upcoming virtual classes, mobile art lessons, and possibly birthday parties and special events. Class times will be weekday mornings and afternoons. We're looking for a teacher that has experience teaching a wide range of ages and subject matter such as drawing skills, painting, toy making, collage, nature based art, etc. We have lesson plans, but would love to work with an experienced teacher who can offer their own ideas as well. Our school is growing and we're hoping to find someone who can grow with our business and take on more and more teaching roles. Job Responsibilities Include: -Develop lesson plans with director and lead art lessons for children in a positive and nurturing manner -Pack and occasionally transport supplies from Dobbs Ferry to each teaching location -Ensure safety and well-being of children at all times -Manage supplies needed and coordinate with school director We are looking for someone who: -genuinely loves children and enjoys their company -approaches teaching in a fun-loving, and positive way -has good leadership abilities -has good verbal and written communication skills -has organizational and time management skills -has the ability to work well independently and as part of a team -has a flexible schedule, and is ok with the nature of our changing schedule If you think you could be a good fit for our program, please send us your resume and a note describing your approach to teaching and why you'd like to work with us. Happy New Year! As we move into 2021, I keep coming back to the power of we. This year was nothing anyone expected. But through it all, I’m so grateful for this amazing community- who kept us afloat and gave us so much love and support. And for every beautiful child we got to see- virtually or in person.
