HEBREW SCHOOL AND OTHER NEWS Hebrew School (run this year by Rabbi Kolakowski) is tentatively starting Thursday September 10. We need to know how many students we will have so we can plan pricing, teachers, and scheduling, as well as possible question of location (due to cost of building maintenance). We plan to have Hebrew School once a week this year (most likely Thursdays after school), and additional private tutoring (whether in-home or online) is available. This year'...s program will also include exciting and educational field trips. Most likely, the Hebrew School will go on hiatus in January and February unless we either get a sponsor for the heating bills, or find hosts in private homes for those months, or perhaps there could be online Hebrew School during those months. We also plan to have adult education classes this year. Please let us know what subjects might be of interest. After the clocks change, we plan to hold services once a month (again with the possible exception of January and February, unless sponsors can be assured), if we can assure sponsorship for services, with additional services for Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. More services are possible if there is interest. Right off the heals of our rabbi being featured on News 12 (with mention of our synagogue included on the screen!), he made the front page of the "Yiddishe Tribune", which is on newsstands now, and there is mention of our synagogue in the article as well!

HIGH HOLIDAYS We are excited to announce our schedule for the High Holidays will be out very soon - we will have services on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur - Tickets are $250 per family - contact us for other accommodations if needed - discounts are available for new members if needed. We are also seeking extra sponsors for the High Holidays and year-round programs, including sponsorship to continue our Hebrew School and year-round services. Rosh Hashanah begins the night of ...Sunday September 13 and last through September 15 (i.e. evening services are Sept 13-15, morning services are Sept. 14-15), Yom Kippur begins Tuesday Night September 22 and the day of Yom Kippur is September 23. Services at night will be at 7 pm and in the morning at 9 am, with extensive explanations and English readings, as well as stimulating sermons and thought-provoking classes during the intermission. We are planning to have 2 Torah readings simultaneously, to accommodate more honors - if you can read the Torah on Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur, let us know (also the Rabbi is available to tutor anyone interested in doing so).
