Thanks to the Pelham Scouts who continue to take care of the Library's flag. Pictured here Ben Jones, an Advisor in Venturing Crew 42, and Ellie O'Sullivan, the... President of the Crew, display a brand new flag and lower it to half-mast in honor of Ruth Bader Ginsburg (1933-2020) who died last Friday, September 18, after serving our country on the Supreme Court for over 28 years. According to Title 4 of the U.S. Flag Code, 7 regarding the position and manner of display: (m) The flag, when flown at half-staff, should be first hoisted to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the half-staff position... By order of the President, the flag shall be flown at half-staff upon the death of principal figures of the United States Government...as a mark of respect to their memory...according to Presidential instructions or orders, or in accordance with recognized customs or practices not inconsistent with law. Thanks to the Scouts who take good care of our flag.
