Today is #WorldPastaDay, and when we think of pasta, we think of Barilla! In 2007, Crosby-Brownlie acted as designer and builder of all HVAC, plumbing and process mechanical piping systems for Barilla's new-then production facility. The project--consisting of 100,000 sq. ft. of food manufacturing and 200,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space--was designed, built, commissioned and turned over to Barilla in 8 months!

Using our Miller Welders PipeWorx machine, we can weld this 14" Schedule 10 stainless steel pipe for a cooling tower in a single pass without backing gas! Our Watts - Mueller W-124 Computer controlled pipe cutting machine conveys and rotates pipe from 2" to 12.75" OD with a 24'-50' machine bed capable of supporting 300 lbs. per foot to a maximum of 6,000 lbs!

Another exciting current project at Sibley Square is The Commissary, Rochester’s downtown kitchen incubator - coming this month. Startup food business entrepreneurs will have access to a one-of-a-kind facility to test, prepare, market, and sell their products. Crosby-Brownlie again provided and installed 3 fan coil units, fully-welded kitchen hood exhaust ductwork, 4 roof-mounted kitchen hood exhaust fans, the make-up air unit ductwork, as well as hot water and chilled water piping. The Mercantile on Main restaurant marketplace, featuring regional cuisine from local chefs, is opening 7 different operations at Sibley Square 240 East Main St. in the five-story, 10,000 sq. ft. open air atrium. Crosby-Brownlie provided and installed 5 fan coil units, 4 cabinet unit heaters, fully-welded kitchen hood exhaust ductwork, 5 roof-mounted kitchen hood exhaust fans, the make-up air unit ductwork and riser from the 1st floor to the 6th floor, as well as hot water and chilled water piping. It's October and 'tis the season for that glorious fall breeze, autumn leaves, hayrides, bonfires, apples, pumpkins, and GRAPES! So today's #TBT goes back a couple years when we prefabricated these nitrogen skids in our shop for a local Finger Lakes winery. Nitrogen application within the winemaking process helps control oxidation, and therefore the consistency, flavor and shelf life. Cheers!
