Croton-Cortlandt Food Pantry 10.04.2021

For anyone who would like to donate non-perishable food to the Croton-Cortlandt Food Pantry, you can do that now thanks to The Croton Lions Club who maintains two dropbox locations for us in Croton - one at Super Foodtown (near the exit door), and the other at 1 Croton Point Ave. in their outdoor dropbox (across from the Croton train station). Thank you Croton Lions!

We served 265 families this Saturday on our Thanksgiving turkey distribution day - an all-time record for our food pantry. We are so grateful to the community groups who helped to make this possible: the Rotary Club of Croton on Hudson, who donated and delivered our turkeys and packed our produce bags; the Croton Lions Club, who pack hundreds of grocery bags for us each week; and the Croton Girl Scouts who did a huge food drive for us in November. We are also grateful to our hardworking Friday Truck Team, who unloads all the food from Feeding Westchester Food Bank truck, as well as our very busy Saturday volunteers who serve our clients. Thank you all for helping us to provide Thanksgiving meals to so many households in a year when the need was greater than ever before!

Coronavirus Update: September 2020 A Note to our Clients and Community Supporters: During this challenging time of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Croton-Cortlandt Food Pantry is committed to remaining open and to serving those in need.... We are open on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month, and our hours are 9:00 to 11:00 am. We are currently operating as an outdoor drive-through pantry in the parking lot behind Holy Name of Mary Church in Croton in order to increase safety for both clients and volunteers. Our demand has surged during the pandemic, and we are now serving 100-150 households per week. This includes our regular clients as well as people who have never been to a food pantry before. We are extremely grateful to our community for standing with us at this time through offers to volunteer as well as generous monetary donations. To support us by making a donation, please go to our website at www.foodpantryincroton.org. We are currently receiving food supplies from Feeding Westchester, our county Food Bank, which has been providing us with an ongoing supply of safely-packaged food to meet our ever-increasing demand. We are also working with our local stores to bring in additional food supplies, including Bagels on Hudson, Baked by Susan, Apple Farm, and Shoprite. We would like to say a special thank you to the Croton Lions Club and Grace Hall of Ossining for packing our food bags; the Croton Rotary Club for packing our fresh produce; the Croton Community Gardens for providing additional summer produce; and our hardworking volunteers for keeping the pantry up and running each week! For more information, or to make a donation, please visit our website at foodpantryincroton.org. Thank you to our community - your support is invaluable to us, especially at this difficult time! We served 140 families on this chilly but beautiful Saturday at our outdoor drive-through food pantry. We also distributed Mother's Day flowers - along with bags of food and produce - a nice surprise for everyone who came today! Thank you to the many Croton gardeners who supplied us with these beautiful flowers, including April Benson, Tim and Lisa Flynn, Penny and Bill Hawkey, Laurie Lechthaler, Hallie Wolfe, Linda Conte, Hale Randers-Pehrson, Cindi Garcia, Greta Hanson, and Judy Vigiletti!

Our hardworking bag packing teams, getting ready for the Saturday rush. Thank you to the Croton Lions Club, the Ossining Lions Club, and Grace Hall for providing us with bagging volunteers every week! Tomorrow all these bags will be handed out the window for our drive-through pantry!
