CSEA Local 815

At the time of the Great Steel Strike of 1919, these employees worked 12 hour shifts, 7 days a week in the steel mills. Casimer, and others, were shot and killed by private police hired by Lackawanna Steel, their employer, while exercising their basic right to fight for a living wage and shorter work weeks. The strike was extinguished and the Union wasn't recognized as a bargaining agent of the employees until 1941. Rest In Power
