Cuban Artists Fund 15.01.2021

A sneak peek at Sandra Cordero’s solo exhibition, Mental Creatures With No Cure which opens tomorrow. In collaboration with our partners at Chashama, the Cuban Artists Fund is pleased to present Sandra Cordero’s solo exhibition. Cordero presents a group of works from the Planeta Sandra series, where she explores the flora and fauna of the planet that orbits her mind. Delusional creatures, sinuous shapes, delicate details, intricate three-dimensional landscapes, made mainly ...from magazine clippings are part of this exhibition. In addition to the works on display, Cordero will be producing works daily. Virtual programs will be announced shortly. Viewing times are Tuesday - Saturday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, January 12, 2021 to February 9, 2021 by appointment, contact [email protected]. All visitors are bound by pandemic protocols: wearing marks covering nose, social distancing and subject to temperature checks. Limit to 4 people maximum per visit. The exhibition is on view at the Chashama Gallery located at 7 East 14th Street, New York, NY. Cuban Artists Fund 15.12.2020

The Cuban Artists Fund is pleased to share that María de los Àngeles Rodríguez Jiménez is our artist-in-residence at the CAF studio. Additionally Maria is participating in the residency program with our collaborative partners at Residency Unlimited through November. María de los Àngeles Rodríguez Jiménez was born in Holguín Cuba in 1992. She received her BFA from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in 2015 and MFA in Painting and Printmaking from Yale U...niversity in 2020. Rodríguez Jiménez participated in residencies such as the Skowhegan School for Painting and Sculpture in 2016 and SOMA Summer in 2019. She is represented by David Castillo Gallery in Miami Beach.
