I loved the fall showcase and was excited to join such a warm and inspiring community of people who shared my love of dancing."... "Dancing makes me feel completely immersed in the present moment. It always feels so magical to be able to express oneself and communicate with others through movement. " As our competition chair, Catalina has been dedicating her time to provide the best competing experience for the club members, including scheduling and booking bus tickets, providing costume/ hair/ makeup support, and taking care of the club members at the competition. Board Spotlight | Annie Meet Annie, our treasurer! Annie joined the club in her freshman year after watching the fall showcase, and now she is a gold level dancer!... One lesson she learned from partner dancing is that good connections require input from both sides. One thing she loves the most about the community is her "mentors and mentees <3". Board Spotlight | Elaine Meet Elaine, our secretary! Elaine joined CU Ballroom when she transferred into Columbia as a sophomore. She thought it would be a great way to stay fit and join a loving community.... She said the friends and life mentors she has met at CU Ballroom are her second family! She also told us when she dances, she feels entirely focused yet free. Dancing is a great way for her to destress (and to procrastinate). Board application is open. Board Spotlight | Lowri Meet Lowri, our co-president! Lowri joined ballroom because she wanted to meet new people through dancing, not only on campus but all over the city as well. She had never done any dance classes before, so she wanted to learn in a casual, fun environment ballroom has definitely lived up to her expectations.... She has learned that the best way to get better at dancing is to have fun and get lost in the moment. For her, salsa is best when you don’t have to time to think about where you put your feet! Board Spotlight Meet Jonathan, our co-president! He joined ballroom as a freshman after having his curiosity piqued by the fall showcase. ... He truly enjoys the warmth and connectedness of the ballroom community, which extends not only throughout the colleges of Columbia, but connects to other universities as well.
