Since the beginning of COVID-19, telehealth has made it significantly easier for many people to access the care they need without risking their health. In the first 6 months of the pandemic, CUCS completed 5,296 telehealth psychiatric visits - a 15% increase in contacts compared to pre-COVID. We estimate we'll have over 1100 telehealth visits per month moving forward.

Last weekend, the team from Sole Purpose held their Taking It to the Streets Upper West Side Event and gave away over 300 Purpose Packs to homeless New Yorkers. A truly inspiring organization led by very impressive young people. You can help in their mission to provide sneakers and socks to homeless New Yorkers by donating your gently used shoes. Way to go, NYC!! Against huge odds we reached a 61.8% self-response rate in the #2020Census - higher than many other large cities and the federal pre-COVID prediction rate of 58%. That means much-needed funding and representation for our city. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to get NYC counted this year! #GetCountedNYC

Food insecurity, like COVID, hasn’t affected New Yorkers equally - but tackling this problem is going to take all of us working together. Every day #CUCSConnects helps New Yorkers access SNAP and other income support to keep individuals and families fed. How can you get involved? Make a monetary donation to a food pantry or an organization providing resources to New Yorkers. Volunteer at a local pantry or soup kitchen. Donate food through an organized food drive or make an individual donation to a local pantry or soup kitchen.
