We’re longing for the community we find in the galleries and theatres that freckle Hell’s Kitchen. There are so many talented artists in this neighborhood perhaps you remember a few of them at our Cultivate HK Artists’ Market in December. While we are not engaging in in-person gatherings at this time, we can still support the arts and each other while preserving the creative spirit that makes HK vibrant. Dear Hell’s Kitchen community, As our neighborhood contends with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are also grappling with the best way to offer support both to our tenants, and to the greater Hell’s Kitchen community. CHDC’s Community Cultivation team has been working remotely, pulling together resources to help our community. A great deal of our work has been focused on securing meals for those who are experiencing greater food insecurity as weather this crisis.... We are lucky to have our friends at Metro Baptist Church and Rescuing Leftover Cuisine help us in feeding our community. While keeping yourself and your neighbors safe through self-isolation, we still want to connect you to the arts, public space and civic life. In the coming days on our social media pages, we will be sharing digital tools, community resources, public health information and mutual aid forms. We also hope to amplify accurate information, while promoting the beautiful array of organizations and people that make Hell’s Kitchen special. With that, we’ll send you off with several resources: 1. If you’re feeling hopeless, and eager to help your neighbors, here’s a volunteer form to lend a helping hand: https://airtable.com/shrbQGgI0aSL7PpxJ 2. If you’re worried about keeping clean, here’s a homemade hand sanitizer recipe: https://www.theverge.com//hand-sanitizer-diy-how-to-hand-w 3. If you’re at risk for COVID-19, and are worried about getting the food you need, here’s a free and safe grocery delivery service: https://www.invisiblehandsdeliver.com/request-a-delivery Stay tuned and stay healthy, Cultivate HK

The biggest of thank yous to the Youth Orchestra of St. Luke's for bringing Hell's Kitchen's youngest musicians to Hartley House to perform their beautiful music for our community! YOSL connects young people from a diverse array of backgrounds to each other, and to the rich musical landscape of New York City. We are proud to partner with this incredible organization, and eager for more community concerts to come! Learn more: https://oslmusic.org/education/youth-orchestra-of-st-lukes/
