The Francis and Ann Curran Center for American Catholic Studies 01.03.2021

Wednesday, December 2, 6pm: The Four Martyred Churchwomen: Allies in Today's Struggle for Social Justice. Edward T. Brett (La Roche University, Pittsburgh) and Donna Whitson Brett will discuss Sisters Dorothy Kazel, Ita Ford, and Maura Clarke, who, along with lay missionary Jean Donovan, were murdered by National Guardsmen in El Salvador because they had dared to side with the marginalized in their struggle for human dignity. Forty years after their deaths, their stories still serve as an inspiration for all who struggle nonviolently against racism, ecological devastation and social injustice.
