Columbia Sports Business Club 16.11.2020

SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT: Scott Savran joined Scout in 2016 and is currently the Senior Manager the Property Consulting and Analytics department. Previously, Scott worked as a public accountant for BDO USA, LLP. Most notably at Scout, his work with Monumental Sports and Entertainment led to the naming rights announcement of Capital One Arena. Scott is originally from Boston, MA and graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he was a club water polo player and helped establish the McCormack Sport Leaders Forum. Our President, Tj Givens, interned under Scott's leadership the past summer. We are looking forward to hearing his thoughts on the intricacies of Sports Business and Data on the panel discussion tomorrow. #CSBS2018 First Annual Columbia Sports Business Summit

SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT: Lauren Dwyer is Director, Digital Sport at Sportradar. In this role, she directs business development and sales for Sportradar's core data APIs and digital products in the East Coast region. Before that, she spent six years at Columbia University, most recently as the Senior Associate Director for Athletics Development. In her role, she was responsible for working with alumni, parents, and friends on major and leadership gifts and managing the Annual Fund ...for Athletics and coordinating direct marketing efforts. Dwyer also led Columbia Athletics’ Giving Day strategies and efforts. Prior to her time working in Columbia’s Athletics Development office, Dwyer spent time as an intern with the New York City Triathlon and Van Wagner Sports & Entertainment Group. Dwyer graduated from Columbia University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in American Studies and English and earned her MBA from Columbia Business School in 2016. While an undergrad, she spent four years on the Lions’ women’s basketball team (2007-11), earning a unanimous Ivy League All-Rookie team selection as a first-year in the program. #CSBS2018 First Annual Columbia Sports Business Summit See you Friday at 5:15 PM, NOCO Rm. 501.

SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT: Ishwara Glassman Chrein is the Head of League Partnerships at Yahoo Sports, a Verizon company, where she leads relationships and negotiations with the NFL, NBA, and NBC, as well as other sports leagues, broadcasters, statistical companies, and technology companies. She began her career at McKinsey & Company and Lehman Brothers, before spending nine years at WME IMG Sports, Entertainment, and Media, most recently as SVP and Global Head of Sales Operations a...nd Strategic Planning. She graduated magna cum laude from Columbia with a degree in economics and political science and received her Master in International Affairs (International Finance) from the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs. She lives on the Upper West Side of Manhattan with her husband, two kids, and one enormous golden retriever. In her free time, she is the president of the Parents’ Association and likes to read, play tennis, and travel abroad. SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT: Jozen Cummings, Deputy Director of Social Stories at Bleacher Report. Jozen has over a decade of experience as a journalist, editor, podcast host, and content manager. Currently, he is at Bleacher Report where he oversees an 8-person video production team responsible for producing content across multiple social media platforms. Throughout his career, Jozen has found a way to adapt to a constantly changing industry with experiences at print publications, digital publishers, and social media companies, all while staying focused on his mission to create compelling content.
