"Not everybody in your family may be a public servant," said Gloria Middleton, President of CWA Local 1180. "They may be working for private industry, and they may be getting their health care through the Affordable Health Care Act, and if, God forbid, you are working in a hospital and you do bring [COVID] home to them, what then?"

CENSUS DEADLINE IS NOW TOMORROW NIGHT OCT 15 @ 11:59 pm A recent Supreme Court decision allowed the Trump Administration to change the Census 2020 deadline to Thursday Oct. 15. Cutting the response time for New York City to TOMORROW, OCT. 15 at 11:59 PM, will adversely affect our number of seats in the House of Representatives, and future federal aid for schools, hospitals and health care, transportation and roads, and much more.... Local 1180 needs your help NOW in fighting for our city’s fair share and future. The 2020 Census count ends tomorrow Oct. 15 at 11:59 p.m. We cannot risk an undercounting of New York City residents that would cause us to lose billions of federal dollars that fund vital city services and our jobs. Please complete your 2020 Census at my2020Census.gov online or on your smartphone, or by calling 1-844-330-2020. Find out how your community is doing at: https://2020census.gov/en/response-rates.html Help spread the word and answer the 2020 Census by Oct. 15 and do your part to protect our city’s future! #LaborCounts #getcounted

President Gloria Middleton "The fact that the City still has so many provisionals and we are facing huge budgetary issues is a concern. They need to follow the law while understanding that essential services must be provided. I stand with the MLC that the state must provide an Early Retirement Incentive and allow the City to borrow so no one has to be laid off in this complicated economic atmosphere."
