Something l herd today. Their are some large farms buying other farmers cows and selling them for beef and transferring their base over to their own farm so they can stay at full production. I don’t believe this can be done legally. And base programs were based on a farms milk production. I think if this going on their will be lawsuits coming against the processor that developed base programs and didn’t make this information public. And if my coop had anything to do with these accusations. There will be hell to pay.

These are posts from 2018 people are interested in. This was made from the difference in 18dollar milk vs14 now that we are looking at 10 dollar milk you can take every different producer on the post and double their losses. I think this is going to be the end for a lot of dairy farms.

Something to think about. The older farmers used to say that you could put a person in a bare room with nothing but whole milk for a week and they would come out just as healthy as the day they went in because whole cows milk had everything in it to maintain a persons health. Just something to think about if we run out of food. I’m not sure if it was only 3.5 butter fat milk years ago. Maybe some of the older farmers could tell you for sure. I definitely know raw cows milk will work.Problem with that is you have to have a license to sell it to consumers and the states want their cut if you know what l mean.Todays quality standards on cows milk makes you wonder why they even pasteurize it.

As dairy farmers we need to cut our production down right now. It’s the only way to help all the dairymen and all the processors from throwing good food down the drain. In my opinion grains should be lowered and 3 times a day milking should be stopped immediately. Their is some mega dairy’s that could help the most. If we don’t work together this milk dumping is going to get worse. And the processing plants can only do so much. The world is at a standstill and we have to ...help our fellow dairymen and our processing plants! I will be calling our nutritionist and lowering our grain and milk production to try and help do our part so we’re not wasting food. And above all the cows should be more relaxed. I expect we will be hearing from our milk marketing people that we have no choice but to lower our production. If everyone does their job this shouldn’t be a problem. Good luck and try to stay healthy. Prayers to everyone on the planet. See more

I’m wondering what the effects of the corona virus has on emissions in the world right now. I have been hearing things like the Chinese people can actually see the stars in the sky and places like California and New York City have cut emissions over 50 percent. I wonder why our news people aren’t reporting positive things like that? Maybe this virus thing was just gods way of cleaning up the planet?

So a week ago we said Good-Bye to our girls! I know most of my friends on facebook do not understand why the dairy industry is struggling to stay in existences.... I would like to share my thoughts........... We have been dairy farmers for over 50 years. This business is not a job for the weak, unorganized, undetermined, inefficient, incompetent and wasteful. Many times we have been referred to as "Dumb Farmers", until you got caught in a snow bank, or you wanted to go hunting on our land; Only then is when you thought of us as "Useful Farmers" Many of you BELIEVE that your food miraculously (dairy, beef, poultry, pork, vegetables, fruit) appear on the shelf. * I wonder did you ever question where your food will come from when the producers of YOUR food have been driven out of business The PROBLEM 1, Producers (farmers) have lost control over their market; example we have dairy cooperatives buying out processing plants and other cooperatives; creating a monopoly on the market. The coop we were forced to deal with is one of the largest and now has the power to enforce unjustified deductions from the dairy farmers milk check. If the farmer does not agree with the deductions; he is told he can look for another market......... ( there is no other market) because of the monopoly!!!!! 2, The generation of dairy farmers is getting older with very little interest in replacing them. A young person that has an interest in starting a dairy farm would face a debt load 10X that of a doctors college degree. Many people don't have the work ethics that is needed to run a farm of any kind. It seems today many want the 9-5 job. Farming is a 24/7 job without paid vacations, holidays, insurance coverage, and NO 401K!!! 3 Many have said to help a NEW generation of farmers ; the older farmers should transfer their working farm over to a young person that has an interest in becoming a farmer.......... The problem is; The old farmer is looking at his farm as his 401 k, and I know none of you would relinquish your 401 k to help jump start someones career! So my fear that one day the hay fields that we enjoy so much will become housing developments. The country side dotted with little red barns and cows grazing will be no longer. BUT the BIGGEST FEAR for me is that we will be solely dependent on FOREIGN food to satisfy our HUNGER! ALL because of GREED from LARGE CORPORATIONS that claim that they are farmer owned. Question? If the corporation were farmer owned why is it that the farmers don't receive insurance coverage like the employees? Why would a dairy farmer subsidize buying an ALMOND "milk" plant to replace his product? Why would the farmer pay 5X for the same deduction? I am missing my girls.............. They were a good bunch Ladies and I think of them as my family and it feels like a death has occurred in my family. I am sure many of you won't relate to my frustration and despair <3 <3 <3

To the article on Starbucks trying to help lower emissions by eliminating dairy in their stores . I have a better solution if you’re worried about cleaning up our atmosphere. Shut down all your stores and all the other coffee stores that people are going to everyday in their cars and sitting in lines at all these drive Thrus and all the trucks that are bringing all everybody’s products that you are selling. That probably alone would save on emissions way more than agriculture.... That’s a completely no brainer. Myself I drink my coffee everyday at home. We have a kerig if you know what that is. I prefer not to burn up energy or create emissions sitting in line at all these drive Thrus. Plus I don’t care to wear my car out either. Next time you want to make a difference on climate change l suggest you look at the fast food industry yourselves and all the cars running to all of the above. In case you didn’t know. There’s emissions coming out of vehicles and trucks. I suspect your ceos are very young and have no clue! See more
