Nepal is such a colorful place. I've really enjoyed my time here. The people are so genuinely warm and welcoming. The history so deep and rich. And of course, the food is terrific! These round chilies are known locally as Dalle Khursani or Akbare khursani. They have a flavor profile between jalapeños and Thai chilies, but pack the punch of habeñeros. I wish I was sticking around long enough to try out some traditional recipes and experiment with new ideas using local ingredients. But one thing you never hear about is the simple joy a #tasteofhome can bring a weary traveller. 7 months and 3 continents later, I can say Kathmandu's French Bakery serves up real deal breakfast. The owner was a delight to talk to: he's cooked around the world before returning to his home Nepal to open his own cafe.
