Sometimes yoga is quiet and solitary. And sometimes it morphs into forms other than practicing yoga poses-like knitting or sewing (great wintertime activities if you have a cozy woodstove to sit beside). Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like. Lao Tzu Things are changing here at Studio in the Woods. The ongoing weekly yoga classes on Monday and Tuesday evenings will no longer be offered. Instead, from time to time a spontaneous class offering on a particular theme or topic will be presented. Out of the empty space, may the sporadic inspiration come! After all, out of the bud comes the flower.
Beginning tomorrow, Monday, April 9th, the Monday night Gentle Yoga class will run from 5:45 to 6:45pm every week from now on (rather than 6:00 to 7:00pm). And, in case you haven't seen any crocuses, yet, here's a lovely photo.
Tonight's class, Tuesday, March 26th, is cancelled. Please practice anyway!
Ready to roll? First one coming up this Thursday, March 29th, from 5:30 to 7:30pm! Space is limited to 10, and there are only a few spaces left for this Thursday, but if you really want to be there, I want you to be there.
Treat your feet in a seat at the "Roll, Relax and Revitalize" workshop. Learn to use the massage balls at the wall, in the hall, on the floor, at the door, in your bed, on your head, on a train, in a plane, in the car, near and far! In tonight's Gentle Yoga class, we'll spend some time blissing out on the coregeous ball, also affectionately known as the "belly ball" due to its perfection for belly and abdominal massage. Not for bellies only, though, tonight we'll focus on neck and shoulder mobility, as well. Here Vassar College student, Phoebe Shalloway, (and my beloved daughter) takes a break from working on her thesis to roll out her neck muscles and relax.
