YOU'RE INVITED! TOMORROW This Dance Film Lab, led by DFA curator Liz Wolff, will explore this filmmaking endeavor capturing the Works & Process production of six pioneering bubble residencies that took place in summer and fall of 2020 in the Hudson Valley. The residencies culminated in live, in-process outdoor performances at Kaatsbaan Summer Festival and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. This incredible journey will premiere as a four-part docudrama, ISOLATION TO CREATION streaming nationwide on January 27, and February 3, 10, and 17, at 8pm ET, for free on the ALL ARTS app, allarts.org , and also air in the New York metro area on the ALL ARTS TV channel. https://gibneydance.secure.force.com/ticket/

Julie Rooney was the Editor of Isolation to Creation, a docudrama premiering on WNET’s ALL ARTS on January 27th 2021. Join Dance Films Association for a conversation with filmmaker Nic Petry, of Dancing Camera, Duke Dang, General Manager, Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim and Julie Rooney, Editor of Isolation to Creation.... In this Dance Film Lab, led by DFA curator, Liz Wolff, we will explore this filmmaking endeavor capturing the Works & Process production of seven pioneering bubble residencies that took place in summer and fall of 2020 in the Hudson Valley. We are so excited to virtually watch our beloved Board member and Curatorial Advisor for Dance on Camera Festival 2020 take the stage again this Saturday at 5pm EST! Michael Trusnovec is one of seven acclaimed dancers who will be live-streamed the Joyce Theater performing Molissa Fenley’s State of Darkness this weekend from October 24 - November 1. Tix available in link! https://www.joyce.org/stateofdarkness For more than two decades Michael was adored as a Principal Dan...cer with Paul Taylor Dance Company, where he also served as Associate Rehearsal Director and he is now the Director of Worldwide Licensing for Taylor’s dances. This weekend will also feature 2020 Juilliard grad Jared Brown; Lloyd Knight of Martha Graham Dance Company; Sara Mearns of the New York City Ballet; Shamel Pitts, former Batsheva Dance Company member; Annique Roberts of Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE; and Cassandra Trenary of American Ballet Theatre. State of Darkness features original lighting design by David Moodey, and costume design by Marc Happel. MY BEST DANCE IS YET TO COME Director: Edoardo Gabbriellini, Italy, 2019, 64m, English with Italian subtitles, North American Premiere... Choreographer, actor, dancer, mime and burlesque performer, the English director, Lindsay Kemp was and still is an icon of contemporary dance, an eccentric experimenter and source of inspiration for many. After his death at the age of 80, the documentary traces the last period of the artist who finds asylum in the Italian city of Livorno. This is a captivating profile of a colorful, flamboyant performance artist who worked on West End and Broadway and directed Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust among other intriguing projects.
