Before we dive into this topic, let’s start by putting down some crucial facts: Everyone is improvising. Everyone is doing their best for our students and children. There is no right answer. Now that we have that settled, we can discuss the benefits and drawbacks of remote learning in the midst of COVID-19. Whether you have decided on this path for your children earlier this fall, or are weighing this option for next year, know that we support you and your family. We know that this is a very personal decision, filled with uncertainty and many other factors that vary from family to family. Is remote learning the right choice for you? Here are 5 factors to consider:
Time to start on those New Year’s resolutions! If you have been worrying about your child’s anxiety, contact us to arrange a consultation. Together we can determine if your child would benefit from therapy, as Da Vinci offers both in-person and virtual counseling services. Email Lorna Bosak, LCSW-R at [email protected] to schedule a consultation.... #davincicenter #virtualcounseling #childdevelopment #anixety #socialanxiety #supportourchildren
Don't forget YET! "Yet" can help us treat ourselves kindly and remind us that we have the potential to keep learning and growing. I'm not good at this - I'm not good at this, yet! I can't do this - I can't do this, yet!... I don't understand this - I don't understand this, yet! Please reach out to Ms. Bosak, LCSW, and Manager of Behavior Support Services, via email with any questions, concerns, or to schedule an appointment: [email protected] #davincicenter #davincieducation #education #research #longislandeducators #longislandeducation #educationalconsulting #behaviorservices #socialemotional #lcsw #socialworker #supportourchildren
Meet #OurTeam! Jessica joined the Da Vinci Education and Research team in the Fall of 2017. She holds an annotation in multiple and severe disabilities for grades pre-K through 12, and is skilled in a broad spectrum of academic specialties; ranging from reading, math, and content area expertise, to support with developmental skills. As a lifelong learner, she values continued personal growth and continuously expands her development, most recently adding both Keys to Literac...y and Math Perceptions training to her professional portfolio. In addition, she is trained in the Wilson Reading System and is adept at implementing a multi-sensory approach (Orton-Gillingham). In the summer, Jessica loves to go swimming in the pool and enjoys exploring new adventures with her 4 year old son. She enjoys coffee, cooking, a good sunset, innovative fitness workouts and time spent with family and friends! See more
Seeing our students succeed and their confidence grow is always worth the wait. Through our Assistive Technology evaluations and consultations, I have the privilege of working with many students and their teams to equip them with the tools they need to flourish in the long term. We would be honored to walk with your student or child throughout this journey and support them along the way!
Reminder: It's National Dyslexia Month! Jim Carey uses his superpowers to bring laughter to so many people with his hilarious jokes and sense of humor. Share a joke you’ve made up, or one of your favorite jokes to tell, in the comments section of our Instagram @davinciedcenter to be entered into our contest to win a free screening at Da Vinci!
