A fifteenth person has died of Covid-19 related complications. Delaware County Public Health received 12 positive lab reports for COVID-19 today. There are a total of 105 positive cases in the County with 3 hospitalized. COVID-19 diagnostic tests and antibody tests are two DIFFERENT types of tests. Diagnostic tests can show ACTIVE infection and can be either molecular tests or antigen tests. Molecular tests, such as RT-PCR tests detect the virus’s genetic material. Antigen tests detect specific proteins from the virus.... Antibody tests can show if you have been infected by coronavirus in the past. Each type of test has different parameters, as seen in the chart. When making an appointment for a test, ask your doctor or the testing location what type of test it is or for more information specific to the test you will be given.
