Unfortunately I have to inform all of you that we will have to close the farm as of 6pm Sunday due to the Coronavirus outbreak. As per the mandate from the Governor of New York, there will be no more lessons, trail rides, or boarders allowed at the farm. All of our essential staff will be on hand to care for the horses. All feeding, turnout, and cleaning of the stalls and stables will continue as per usual. Furthermore we will be on-hand for any veterinary emergencies, a...nd to conduct night checks. We will be available via text, email, and telephone. Hopefully this will end quickly, however at this time we do not have an end date for these measures. As soon as we have any new information we will absolutely share it with you! Some of you have reached out about continuing to have your horses exercised, and we are definitely capable of doing that for you. Please let me know your needs and I will do my best to accommodate you! If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me at any time. Keep washing your hands! Don't touch your face! We will miss you all and we can't wait to start up again soon!

Sharing the post below. Part of our mission statement it to educate. That includes local elected officials. We had much success with Suffolk County and the reopening of DDR Farms. I live in Huntington and as a Realtor in that area, I try to keep tabs on the Zoning Department for just this reason. If you hear of anything that you feel affects horses and farms and want help, PLEASE reach out to us. There is much strength in numbers! That said the end of the year is approaching ...and that means time to renew. A nice Xmas gift would be NSHA membership! https://www.nshaonline.org/membershipThis is from someone who is also a Realtor but lives in a different state and has posting this on FB:LAND and HORSE FARM OWNERS, watch your backs with your town boards and elected officials on zoning changes.I normally don't rant about things on facebook, but after seeing and hearing the changes in zoning for horses in recent years, land owners might want to have a heads up on this. Towns periodically rezone and change codes in towns every so many years. They DO NOT notify the land owners about changes that could cost them thousands of dollars. Example a nearby town took rural agricultural area and rezoned it rural residential, they adopted a rule that will no longer allow any horses. Not even if you have 10, 20, 50 or 100 acres. If you have a barn and it's been empty for 12 months for any reason, you have lost the right to ever have horses again. The only possible explanation is the appointed and elected officials have zero respect for the land owners nor horses owners and/or never owned a farm.Horses are welcome in most town rural residential areas as long as you meet a minimum number of acres, there may be addition codes to follow on barns, fencing and manure removal or commercial use. I remember years ago fortunately being alerted to changes in my town. I called as many horse and livestock owners as I could. We all got together and worked with our Town officials to adopt sensible zoning for horse farms and stopped changes that would have hurt us all, even those that didn't have horses but land for potential mini farms. If your Town has already made these changes its never to late to get as many land and horse owners together as an active group and begin working to correct, reverse or modify the zoning. If your Town going to update the town masterplan on zoning, alert everyone and get involved. An unaware farm Owner today found out their beautiful 130yr old mini farm on 10 beautiful private acres and gorgeous big barn can not have any horses or livestock anymore. See more
Thanksgiving offers us an opportunity to reflect on all the blessings we have received and for the unwanted animals who come to the Kaeli Kramer Sanctuary the h...ope and the healing are all because of you.
