I, like many, DO get sore after some workouts. I get tired, I feel defeated, I struggle with things. BUT, I will try. When I am sore, I know I can't just sit around as the soreness will get worse. I ran the other day (as I will say a million times, I am not a runner) and like clockwork, my calves were on fire today (two days later).. When I stood, i fell to the floor. I cancelled on my 7:30am run, went and taught my classes to be able to stretch them out and then pushed... to run after. out of the 3 mile (I think it was 3miles) run, I walked about 6 seconds as the calves cramped a little. They feel so much better now. We always have to have that little drive. For me, it is going with friends and have them push me, even when they have to slow down. I also know that as we get older, if we don't keep moving, the soreness and stiffness lingers longer and longer. I will fight that as long as I can. Thank you to all who push and encourage me and than you to all who allow me to push and encourage them. See more

Grilled Corn, Avocado and Tomato Salad with Honey Lime Dressing. INGREDIENTS: 1 pint grape tomatoes... 1 ripe avocado 2 ears of fresh sweet corn 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped HONEY LIME DRESSING Juice of 1 lime 3 tbsp vegetable oil 1 tbsp honey Sea salt and fresh cracked pepper, to taste 1 clove garlic, minced Dash of cayenne pepper DIRECTIONS: Remove husks from corn and grill over medium heat for 10 minutes. The corn should have some brown spots and be tender and not mushy. Cut the corn off the cob then scrape the cob with the back of your knife to get the juices. Set aside and let cool. Slice the tomatoes in half. Dice the avocado and chop the cilantro. HONEY LIME DRESSING 1. Add all the dressing ingredients in a small bowl and whisk to combine. Set aside. 2. Combine the sliced tomatoes, avocado, cilantro and grilled corn and honey lime dressing and mix gently so everything is evenly coated. Be careful not to mash the avocados. Let the salad sit for 10-15 minutes to let flavors mingle.

Since I had to cancel yesterday (sorry) I will have a 4:15 and a 5:15 class today. Strength, stretch, core, and a little extra surprise.. hehe.

My post from 6 years ago... LOL... Now don't get crazy but A study done by American Journal Of Clinical Nutrition states that eating a bowl of ice cream 2 hours after a workout triggers your insulin, which is a hormone that is essential in the muscle building process. I am SURE it means 2 scoops of ice cream with no crap on it. for you HOOPLA fans, it is Just the yogurt with no crap on it LOL.
