In 2012, when I had the wacky idea to lug a behemoth of a BBQ smoker from Austin to Brooklyn, I had no idea what I was getting myself into, just a vague notion that I'd learn to make brisket. As it turned out, the next four years of my life would be my best yet. The idea became a project, and the project a business. From staying up all night cooking in my folks’ backyard in Jersey, to organizing Brisketlab, to opening BrisketTown, to developing a catering company, and eventua...lly starting the development of retail products, we've done so much. Which is why it is bittersweet to announce the next chapter in this journey. In 2015, the building that BrisketTown lives in was sold to a development group, making our future uncertain. We fought for our lease, but ultimately, the group was intent on knocking down the building to develop on the property. And so, it saddens me to announce that we will be closing BrisketTown until we find a new home. Our last day will be this Sunday, March 5th. This announcement is bitter because it's hard to say goodbye to all of the memories, history, and moments we had in that space. But it's sweet because it's not the end! As I mentioned, over the last four years we've grown into more than a restaurant. We've developed a thriving catering business and have catered over 150 weddings. We just opened a BBQ pop-up in Jersey City, and we’ll soon have our Hot Links in grocery stores. And now, we'll embark on the next chapter: Building a new, bigger, and better restaurant. While our new home hasn't been selected, everyone on our team is considering this a move, rather than a closure. We hope to announce the next phase soon. #Repost @nomnomtexas Keeping my New Years resolution to eat more barbecue Delaney's BBQ is a Brooklyn joint that loves Texas barbecue so much they decided to try and copy it. You gotta laugh at the presentation, they had a roll of classic butcher paper but said it was "just for decoration" most importantly though, it tasted pretty good and is probably the only place you can get Topo Chico in the big apple
