GreenHomeNYC has organized a tour of the composting operation at the LES Ecology Center on Manhattan's Lower East Side. The Center is a great resource for the e...nvironment in NYC, and this should be an interesting tour, especially for those of us who drop off our veggie scraps at one of their collection locations. August 15 at 6:00 pm. See the EventBright link attached for more info and reservations. Tour one of New York City’s oldest community composting programs! The Lower East Side Ecology Center in partnership with the NYC Compost Project divert over 450 tons of food scraps from landfills annually. Get a first hand look at how food scraps are turned into compost and how compost helps to rebuild NYC's soil health.

Outdoor deck for our loft design on 26 St in Manhattan, with vent cover "pedestals", translucent glass privacy panels and clear glass access canopy. Nice party spillout space.

We just completed this interior apartment renovation on Central Park West in New York City. A complete reconfiguration of space in converting a two bedroom to a three bedroom apartment for a family of 4. Walnut millwork and dark stained oak flooring. A primary improvement was to relocate the entry from the kitchen to a "foyer" area off the living room, a much more tasteful approach. We are very happy with the quality work from D2W Carpentry, the General Contractor.

I’ve always thought glass buildings were moronic. So much energy lost through glass. Time for practicality to rise above style. And there are plenty of style options to glass

NATURAL VENTILATION reduces the need for AC. Our design of this house includes a cathedral ceiling with operable skylights at the peak. Air flows in at the low side from the opened glass doors, venting out at the opened skylights at the peak. Click on the photos to see the full view showing skylights.
