Happy Thursday out there! It’s been 9 months since the pandemic invaded our lives. I know it’s been challenging on families already struggling. I’ve had to be creative and adapt my practice as well. Quiet the dog during online mediation session, try to figure out why my laptop won’t allow a virtual background so that clients can’t see the cat walking behind me, muting the kids etc. I started online mediations, something I always wanted to offer but never had the time to work out the kinks. I’ve mediated with clients who had Covid when otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to help in person. I’m still here virtually and in person at my office, with proper precautions in place. We’ll get through this. Be safe and stay healthy everyone.

Office dogs Stella and Luca helping us through the day and joining in on mediations and meetings. Thankful for these fur friends who make us smile all day long. I’ve had clients ask where the office dogs are when they come in and don’t see the pups :)

Hello everyone! I hope this post finds you well and your family and friends healthy. An update on what I see happening in my practice areas. Real estate is alive and well in Western New York, the market seems to be moving and I’m busy closing deals and welcoming new clients to Buffalo area. Divorce matters are moving along as well but by negotiation and mediation, not litigation, as Courts are still only accepting emergency applications. So all the more reason to mediate, ...I’m finding video mediations to be just as effective and successful as in person mediations. I am grateful for those clients who are working with me now and pleased I can help them move forward in this challenging time. Lastly, Estate planning-I can assist you with estate planning including Wills, Health Care Proxy, Power of Attorney and Living Wills. These are documents many people put off and many times don’t want to think about but really should be done before there is an emergency, illness, etc. So that’s what’s happening at my home office, staying safe and I hope you are too. Hello everyone- I hope this message finds you and your families, co-workers and friends healthy. I am working from home to keep my family and yours healthy. I am also continuing to work with clients remotely, via video conferencing, teleconferencing and emails. I have Zoom set up and ready for video conferences so that we can keep things moving forward. As we all become adjusted to the temporary new normal, know that I am still available for you. I continue to mediate, provide consultations, draft agreements etc. Like everyone else, I am working to make lemonade out of lemons. This situation has given me an opportunity to develop my practice in new ways and continue to provide quality services to my clients Be well. Contact me via phone (716) 381-9036 or email: [email protected] and I will get back to you very quickly.

If you have upcoming court appearances next week, please check with your attorney (or Court if you are pro se) to confirm if the court appearance is still on, if it has been adjourned, if it has been changed to a telephone conference or some other change of status. You may also check the New York Office of Court Administration website for updated information. I have already been notified by NYS Supreme Court of a change in status of one of my proceedings for next week. However, not all Courts in my area have made temporary changes at this time. So, as we know, the situation is changing daily to keep the community as safe and healthy as possible as preventative measures are put into place. I will certainly notify my clients of changes that effect court appearances, mediations etc. I wish everyone good health.

Still working out the final touches on the new website but it’s up and running at www.michellebullock.com and www.buffalomediator.com. My goal is to do more of the work that aligns with my skills and personality- mediation does just that. It makes my day to hear I was really nervous about this but now I’m feeling very comfortable with mediation or we have never been able to talk about this, in the past ten years, except in mediation with you. Those are the highest compl...iments I could receive. Let’s do the work in mediation, on your time, at your pace and in my space not the courtroom.

Mediation. It can save you more than money. It can save you time. It can save you emotional distress. It can preserve the friendship that parents need to co-parent during and after the mediation is over. What happens at mediation? We talk, we share concerns and we exchange ideas and solutions to reach a fair agreement, out of court and in confidence. Consider mediation and contact me to schedule a consultation. ...
