In the beginning of this Pandemic, we did the responsible thing by shutting down, sat down to think about how we can get through this together as a team and as a community. First pic is our sign back in 2012 - yes we have been here for 8 years, we have battled a fire a year and a half after opening. Now we are doing our best to get through 2020. Pic 2 is the day we took all our beautiful bottles off our back shelf and it was a heart breaking day. 3rd pic was taken last Fri...day when we opened up our beautiful bar for indoor service and returned our beautiful bottles to our back bar. Farewell to Nitecap. Our hearts break with you. Donna began with the tremendous support of Jeremy Oertel and Natasha David, and we had the incredible pleasure of working with Lauren Corriveau before she joined the team at Nitecap. We always felt a special kinship to this bar, one built on similar grounds of creating a more inclusive space in a predominantly homogenous culture. Also, it was fun! Nitecap was our go-to destination for date nights, holiday parties and indeed ni...te caps after a scrumptious dinner in any one of Manhattan’s fine eateries. We have long feared that October would bring about more closures as PPP funds run out, and the loan forgiveness period reaches its end. This is a deeply sad loss to our community, but we fear it is not the last. Please keep supporting the bars and restaurants you love (safely).
