You say goodbye and I say hello! Hello, hello... The hospitality industry is a constant revolving door. It sucks but it’s the nature of the beast. We’ve had some staffing changes in the last couple of months. If you know me, I’m not a fan of change but it is what it is and I’m rolling with it. I’d like to welcome Tonya Shaut, Kayla Corso, and Sandy Gonyea to my staff!! They have recently joined us here at Dopp’s and are fitting in nicely! Tonya has joined us in the kitchen,... cooking. Kayla has joined my waitress staff and Sandy is a daytime bartender. Welcome, ladies!!! Karli Miller has worked for me for over 4 years and tonight will be her last night. Mixed emotions on this one for sure! She is one of the hardest working young women that I’ve ever had the pleasure to know and work with. She is finishing up here at Dopp’s to concentrate on college, have a little fun ( it’s about time!) and join the Navy in a few months. She will be missed so much! Hey everyone, very hectic day here at Dopp’s! Here’s a quick dinner post- prime rib, NY strip, fresh haddock & scallops, shrimp, clams and the full menu. Twin pork chops, sirloin tips- with peppers, onions & mushrooms, ( they come with the usual sides) homemade Mac & cheese, Dopp’s greens-as a side ( large or small), chicken & greens dinner or greens pizza. We also have Turkey noodle soup, Turkey salad - wrap or on a Kaiser with lettuce & tomato, sausage, onions & pepper hoa...gie, macaroni or potato salad or coleslaw. Patty is enjoying a well deserved weekend off with her hubby but she made desserts before she left- homemade custard, white chocolate raspberry cheesecake or plain cheese cake with ass’t fruit toppings. We are in good hands while Patty is away, Trisha Marie is back for the evening, waitressing! Stop in to say hello! Happy Saturday all!! I was floored by the response to our lobster special! Lobster rolls sold out! Thank you all for trying them and the response seemed very positive. We will be doing them again in the future for sure! We still have some lobster tails available for tonight. We will also have prime rib and NY strip, scallops and shrimp. I’ll be in the kitchen all day. Hope to see you. ***Don’t forget- covid restrictions apply. Must social distance and if there isn’t seating available we are over capacity and will not be able to serve you. Substantial food order to order alcohol will be enforced. We’ve got you covered for any last minute gifts! The last batch of Dopp’s 2020 maskot shirts are here! We have some 3x and some kids shirts available this time around. After 3 sundays closed for private functions....Sunday Funday is back! Join us for a Christmas beverage. We have homemade soup, burgers, wings, wraps, fresh haddock and much more. Kim and I will be holding down the fort today, stop in and say hi! We are still taking orders for Christmas catering, call or stop in. Tonight we have chicken & biscuits with a side salad, roast pork dinner with fresh carrots, and Cajun chicken & broccoli Alfredo. Starters are- turkey rice soup, macaroni, potato salad and coleslaw. TGIF everyone! On tonight’s menu- prime rib, NY strip, fresh haddock or scallops, shrimp, clams and our full menu. We also have manicotti- w-meatballs or sausage, tossed salad and a roll, ham dinner w- mashed potatoes & gravy, fresh carrots and a roll. Another favorite is back- seafood stuffed haddock! This is broiled haddock stuffed with scallops, shrimp and crab simmered in white wine and garlic butter and topped with Swiss cheese. The starters are cream of potato soup, macaroni or potato salad or coleslaw. Patty has been swamped at her real job so she only had time for plain cheesecake with a fruit topping. Thursday is here! Formerly known as thirsty Thursday, it should probably now be called hungry and thirsty Thursday in the age of Corona virus, in NYS. We have vegetable beef soup, macaroni salad and coleslaw. A couple specials tonight are- stuffed rigatoni with meatballs or sausage, salad and a roll, boneless pork chops with vegetable rice, salad or broccoli and a roll. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We are closed today. I hope you all have a nice day and spend some time feeling thankful for what you have and not focused on what you may be missing out on. Yes, 2020 has been a year unlike any other. It’s been frustrating, hard and even scary at times. But, we’ve made it this far and we can still get thru what lies ahead. This will be the first year in over 40 years that we won’t gather at Dopp’s for the Thanksgiving holiday. It makes me sad tha...t we won’t get together today but hopeful that next year we will. I’m hopeful that our family will remain healthy and happy and next year this will all be a memory to talk over and to be grateful that we all made it thru. I’m thankful for many things this year. I’m thankful to still be alive and well and my family is too. I’m thankful that even though my business has taken a hit, it’s still here. I’m very thankful for my wonderful staff that chose to stay working and keep Dopp’s open so we all could keep our jobs. I love each and everyone of them. I’m thankful for a warm house on a cold day, that there is food in my fridge and the bill collectors aren’t breaking down the door. I’m also thankful I didn’t go through a pandemic alone and we probably laughed at each other more than we should’ve but also picked each other up when we needed to. I’m thankful that on the days that I couldn’t find my humor, I had friends to do it for me because I can not live without laughter. I’m also thankful that I have gym friends to check on me when I don’t show up to work out and keep me accountable and that I have the sanctity of my gym. I’m thankful for memories of people that I miss and that I have people to make more memories with. And, I’m thankful that my trusty fur baby Minnie Pearl is still around to be my ever present shadow. It’s not that hard to find gratitude because it really is the little things that mean the most and if it took a year like this to find our purpose again, then I guess I’m thankful for that too. Even though it really sucked at times! I’m also thankful for all of you being behind me and my staff here at Dopp’s for so many years, especially this one, THANK YOU!!
