Ah, #hardwork You can try to avoid it, but sometimes in the words of @nike - #justdoit On this #womancrushwednesday front-line healthcare worker patient of mine , not only did she rock her @invisalign aligners but she also rocked her #posteriorcrossbite rubberbands to help fix her bite and improve her smile. . . . What was wrong in the Before (top pictures) of the #beforeandafter pics? Let’s dive in. ... 1 The top right back teeth are tucked under the bottom right back teeth. This is OPPOSITE of what we want. This can lead to recession of the gums on those back teeth, wear on the enamel of the teeth, and your smile collapsing. And while you may not want to hear it - this typically requires RUBBER BANDS to fix it. NOT just braces or #invisalign but rubber bands, too. Tough to correct in adults but doable with the right amount of hard work and determination! #yougogirl 2 The top front teeth are misaligned - the front left central incisor is too far out, overlaps its neighbore #mindyourbusiness and also causing the lower lip to roll or evert as we say in the ortho . 3 The top arch of teeth and lower arch of teeth are uncoordinated. The entire row of bottom teeth should fall just under the entire top arch of teeth - like the colors on a (ie: the orange colored arch should be under, parallel and coordinated with the red colored arch) 4 The entire lower jaw is shifted to this girl’s cross bite side (to her right). This is because when her teeth improperly come together into that bad, bad posterior crossbite, it causes the teeth to shift on each other, scrap the out of each other, and this #functionalshift as we call it, force her jaw to shift to her left, too. . . . So how’d we fix all this? With HARD WORK. We used @invisalign + #IPR + #rubberbands + #reshaping + #time + #invisalignrefinements to get it right.
