/ This summer marked a year since I finished formal training in obstetrics and gynecology @monteobgynres. It takes four years to lay the foundation of a #womenshealth expert. Caring for patients is an art one that weaves science into humanity, and compassion into medicine. But there is so much more to becoming an #obgyn than just the medicine! That’s why I’m so excited to announce a brand new @acog_org project that will shine a light on what it truly takes ...to /! Starting tomorrow 11/10, tune in to @acog_org every other Tuesday at 8PM EST for / a series that will bring you experts to chat about the nitty gritty of transitioning into life as an OB/GYN. And trust me when I say you’re not going to want to miss these sessions! We’re gonna be talking about everything from interviewing in the time of #covid to deciding between academics and private practice to contract negotiations and how physicians get paid. We want these sessions to be as interactive as possible, so tune in with all those questions that you’ve kept bottled up! Be sure to follow @acog_org so you don’t miss us when we go live tomorrow 11/10 at 8PM EST! Huge shoutout to the @acog_org staff, #JFCAC & #YPS who have been instrumental in actualizing this series! And to @cgordon_md the best co-conspirator I could have asked for! #obgynlife #oblife #meded #somedocs #fellowship #attendinglife #resident #residency #obgynresidency #obgynresident #docsofinsta #docsofinstagram #doctorsofinstagram #pregnancy #babydoctor #physician #medicine #medicalschool #medstudent #fellow #attending #doctor #residencyinterviews

If you do nothing else today, #vote! . This year has taught us more lessons than we ought to have needed: - about race - about health... - about science - about community - about our elected officials - about our priorities . Elections matter. Not just the presidential, but the mid-term. It’s not just the top of the ticket, but down-ballot races that affect our lives and the health of our communities. . Today, go out and vote. Not like your life depended on it, but like the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors depend on it because they do. . This election, vote for #science. Vote for #bodilyautonomy. Vote to protect #blacklives. Vote for #healthcare. Vote to return #humanity and #decency and #truth to the highest elected office in our country. . . . #vote2020 #voteforchange #votehimout #physicianadvocate #womenshealth #acogvotes #factsareimportant #factsmatter #obsdeliver @ New York, New York See more

Starting your pregnancy journey can be nerve wracking but with a little planning it doesn’t have to be! Did you know: 25% of healthy couples will get #pregnant each month in the first 3 months of trying 80% of couples get pregnant in the first 6 months of trying... After 12 months of #ttc, 85% of couples will see a positive pregnancy test! Having sex 1 to 2 days before ovulation and on the day you ovulate gives you the best chance of getting pregnant Home ovulation kits and having sex 2-3 times a week can decrease the time it takes you to conceive Be sure to talk to your #gynecologist sooner rather than later if you have irregular periods, are over 35 years old, or have certain medical conditions (e.g. #endometriosis, #PCOS)

Excited to launch a new project today! As an OB/GYN, I love helping people with their pregnancy journeys getting pregnant, getting through pregnancy, and managing the pregnancy aftermath. Answering pregnancy questions is one of my biggest passions. I learned early on that the best answers come from the moms I take care of.... This space is for you. I’m talking about ALL moms: -Moms who give birth -Moms who adopt -Moms who take on the role in their communities -Moms who have the role thrust upon them Your experience is priceless & irreplaceable! This is why I’m launching #MomToMomMondays. Each week I’ll post a question and make space for y’all to weigh in with your answers & expertise. Later in the week, I’ll share those answers along with my own. Pregnancy journeys can be a mixed bag of experiences & feelings. You don’t have to go it alone.

***Tribute to the Med School Class of 2020*** . In just a few minutes, we are paying tribute to the 30,000 new medical school grads who will enter the workforce this July (or even earlier for some of those in NYC) . .... This picture is from the day of my graduation from @einsteinmed back in 2015. It was the end of May gorgeous, sunny, and buzzing with excitement. My parents, grandma, sister, best friend and his family (@c0ltn) attended. They knew i didn’t much care for graduation ceremonies, but this one was different. The son of immigrants and a long line of engineers, I was the first to graduate medical school and carry the distinguished title of physician. . In a sense, it was a day filled with surreal moments. I’d been chasing this dream for as long as I could remember. And yet here I was, not at the end, but at the very beginning of my career as a physician. The pride I felt was nothing compared to what my parents felt they eyes beaming in silent praise as I crossed the stage. I know exactly what they felt, because just last year I felt it too when I hooded my baby sister (@cerenaksel26) as she crossed the stage to join the ranks of the medical profession . Also a huge shout out to the greatest new #obgyn I could ever call a friend and colleague @laurenthefarmerr ! @dukeuniversityhospital, you’re lucky to have her! . . I’m honoring the grads today because you can’t have the big ceremony and party the way you probably had imagined for yourself this May. I feel for you so much . . So let’s focus on the positive: >Your hard work paid off... >Your individuality will save live... >Your future expertise is priceless... . You will touch people, you will change lives. You have chosen a career where you will truly make a difference. CONGRATULATIONS!! . . . . . #30knewdocs #medicalstudent #2020graduates #AMA #doctor #medstudent #medicine #obgyn #oblife #babydoctor #pregnancy
