Duckingham Cottage

Penn Yan is a quiet little gem of a country town 15-20 mins north of Duckingham Cottage. We spent the weekend bouncing back and forth between Penn Yan and Hammondsport, my favorite fall towns in NY! I thought I’ve seen quite a bit of Penn Yan, but even this article has some new ones.

We are SO thankful that so many have enjoyed Duckingham Cottage this year , a crazy rate of near 100% capacity since May 16, and we’re still booked solid through October 14th! Check out our availability for October and November - absolutely stunning months to enjoy the New England fall foliage across the lakes, farms and mountains, the crisp fresh air, and the beauty at each of the wineries as they decorate with mums, gourds ...and hay bales. Whew! Facebook finally let me change the page to the correct name! Something so simple yet momentous brings me to reflect on our journey so far. Its been a year and a half owning Duckingham Cottage... it took us a couple months to name it properly and in my eagerness I "needed" to get a Facebook site up before we did - Loveland Lakehouse was only supposed to be a temporary name, but it wouldn't let me change the name when we decided on Duckingham Cottage! Grrr... I rememb...er us going through so many emotions getting it ready for our guests from pure excitement, hesitation, hysterics, tired, thankful, hopeful, blessed. All the time and care that was put into it, and yet still more thoughts for excitement, comfort and fun our guests can enjoy. And we couldn't be happier with Linger Hospitality’s Myron and Jo tending to every guest; all of their reviews are spectacular and we would completely agree with every one of them. They truly do care about our guests, and want guests to have a great time just as much as we do. Working with them has been a true blessing, and they are a true treasure! I know, I ramble, but I also need to acknowledge our deep and sincere appreciation for each and every guest that has come to Duckingham whether as a guest, cleaning crew, helping hand, maintenance, and our family - all of us together help make Duckingham the amazing place it is and we love and appreciate each and every one of you, whether we know you or not!
