It is with great sadness that we have to report that the Dunkirk Little League board of directors has voted to cancel the 2020 baseball & softball season due the coronavirus. While this was not an easy decision to make we feel that it was the right decision to make at this time for the safety of our kids and the many spectators that come and watch. While there are still many unknowns about the virus we feel that there would be no way to safely play and make it fun for the kid...s. At this time we will be contacting every parent that had registered their child or children to offer them a refund, credit for the 2021 season or buy of the lottery calendar fundraiser. These phone calls will be coming from a league representative in the next couple of weeks. All sign and team sponsors will be contacted by mail. I wish to thank all the parents for their patience as they waited on a decision. The board felt that with recreation being in phase 4 we would not be able to start until sometime in July. Here is an update on the Dunkirk Little League. While we are still on hold at least until May 15, we are still hopeful for some type of season. There will be a whole new set of guide lines that we will have to follow. Parents can look at these guide lines on the Little League Website. Dunkirk Little League will be in contact with parents once we get the OK to play or if we have to cancel our season. We still plan on having our fundraiser so if any parents have Lottery Calendar money they would like to turn in or have any questions please call President Gary Haase 716-679-6929 or email [email protected]. We are still holding out some hope for a season, have not cancelled anything and will keep everybody posted. We are complying with all the standards set, and are on temporary suspension/delay until at least May 11th per Little League International. Stay safe!
