Merry Christmas and happy holidays from the turtles!!!!!
He was the heart of the firehouse. He always had a good word to say, was always willing to teach and share his knowledge and experience, and he was always laug...hing. He set an example for everybody and we all followed. He was my Lieutenant and I was his Captain, and I looked up to him. I respected what he did. Obviously he will be sorely missed, says FDNY Captain Thomas McHugh, Squad 41, remembering Lieutenant Brian J. Sullivan. Lieutenant Sullivan suffered a fatal heart attack on Saturday, August 10th at his home in Monroe, NY, after responding to a kitchen fire in a Bronx apartment during his 24-hour tour of duty. He is the 1,153rd member of the FDNY to die as a result of injuries sustained in the line-of-duty. He leaves behind his wife Irene, and two daughter Nicole, 22, and Samantha, 17. The FDNY Foundation joins the FDNY in mourning the line of duty death of Lieutenant Brian J. Sullivan. Donations to benefit the children of Lieutenant Sullivan can be made by visiting www.fdnyfoundation.org/donate/ and selecting Lt. Brian Sullivan’s Children’s Education Fund from the drop-down menu. I’m on the scene here at Catalpa Avenue off 62nd Street near Fresh Pond Road where someone purportedly left Sulfuric Acid in a bucket. New York City Fire Depart...ment (FDNY) HazMat Company 1 and our wonderful E286 / L135 The Myrtle Turtles are here now assessing the situation. Will update everyone further as more information comes in. See more
