Ghislaine Maxwell, the longtime associate of Jeffrey Epstein, was charged on Monday for the first time with sex trafficking of a minor, as federal prosecutors accused her of grooming a 14-year-old girl to engage in sexual acts with Mr. Epstein and later paying her. #SexualAbuse is never ok. Sometimes it doesn’t take a lawsuit to get real relief as a victim of #sexualharassment and #sexabuse. The multiple victims of Catholic composer David Haas demonstrated that sometimes a victim’s advocate can make a big impact even when legal issues may stand between the victims and the courthouse. As a result of their advocacy, Haas’s hymns have been banned from Catholic churches in 10 archdioceses nationwide. In her documentary "This is Paris," Paris Hilton recounts her 11 months attending Utah Boarding school, Provo Canyon School, where she says she was mentally, physically, and sexually abused. After its release in September, USA Today explains that Provo Canyon School has attempted to distance themselves from the claims. On Thursday, December 10, Hilton and her team launched a new website to further the #breakingcodesilence movement, which contains testimonies from survivors of sexual abuse within the troubled teen industry. The Florida state attorney’s office has filed a felony charge against French Olympic figure skater Morgan Cipres for the transmission of material harmful to a minor by electronic device, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest, according to an attorney involved in the case and emails obtained by USA TODAY Sports.
