I am bursting with joy at this awesome community we have here. Swipe through to see not one, but *THREE* exciting announcements! 1. When I put out the call for a bookshelf, I had so many kind messages and offers. One of these came from Paige, who offered to build us a shelf from reclaimed wood that her partner salvaged from work. We did need to grow our refill station with all your product suggestions so Paige made us a floating shelf! She is doing more upcycled projects ...in Queens, please check out @PetalPine and give her a follow to say thanks for supporting us! 2. With @sydney_bembry's help + planning, we've sourced and bought a TON of new books for our climate library! Please come grab a *free* book, read it, and bring it back to spread the love and sustainability discussions. 3. Our talented pal @lolliallya who exudes generosity has made DOZENS more pairs of earrings! This time we are fundraising for Texas via Queens loves Texas mutual aid fundraisers. We are only offering these in-store this weekend, but if we have pairs left, I will post them for our friends outside of Astoria! Please enjoy the sunshine and thanks for being so engaged in this little sustainable corner of the world!

Something I have LONG wanted to implement in the store is finally here! Our candle recycling program! If you’ve visited and sniffed around our store, you probably encountered Astoria Candle. This local duo handcrafts awesome and eco-conscious scents that are much loved in our store. Buy a candle for $24, burn it, and bring it back for 10% off your next candle purchase. We will share the jars with our local partners, who will clean and refill them. Everyone wins, especially mama

I look around this store and feel just so much love. This year has redefined for me what love is. As someone who had a long way to go with opening myself to love in all its forms, Earth & Me has already taught me so much on how to give and receive love in new ways. From community-based support and love, to redefining my love for planet and people as an active love with more verbs involved - learning, giving, writing, amplifying, cherishing, defending. Here’s a montage of acts of love in the store, from gifts from the community like plant props to share with neighbors, shelves for our free community library, and sweet items from local makers who have become dear friends. I truly love this community and hope our store can continue to show that every day.
