Two years ago, we lost our brother in blue Detective Brian Simonsen. His was a life dedicated to service taken too soon due to the actions of a career criminal. Today, we celebrate Brian, and every day we honor him as Detectives continue his important work. We will never forget.

Congratulations go out to Sgt. Peter Schmitt on his retirement after over 24 years of service to the citizens of East Hampton. Pete was a member of the Dive Tea...m and Bicycle Unit, spent time serving on the East End Drug Task Force, and was promoted to patrol Sergeant in 2007. He received the prestigious Department Recognition Award, and was a big part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run efforts. We extend our sincere thanks for his dedicated and professional service protecting the community since 1996, and wish him a healthy and happy retirement with his family. Congratulations Pete!!
