Hampton Bays and Riverhead have been declared COVID Yellow Zones. This flyer has been delivered to all of the businesses in the village and is posted on their front doors. The Police Department has been directed to be proactive in the enforcement of social distancing and the requirement to wear face masks when they can not social distance. Persons found in violation will be warned and offered a mask from the police. However, if they fail to comply they will be issued a s...ummons to appear in local court for a violation of New York State Public Health Law. This violation is a misdemeanor and is also punishable with up to a $1,000.00 fine. This initiative is an attempt to keep our residents/visitors safe and keep our businesses open. We need everyone’s cooperation to combat this virus.

100 years ago today, September 25, 1920, a vote was held to incorporate the Village of East Hampton. Voters overwhelmingly supported the Village's creation. Although the community cannot celebrate all together, the Village was lucky today to have a presentation from Assemblyman Fred Thiele of a Legislative Resolution he sponsored with Senator Kenneth LaValle honoring the Village's Centennial Anniversary today.
