How are you driving? Along with giving yourself enough time to get to where you are going and being patient it is important to make sure you prepare and maintain your vehicle for winter. Here are a few points to consider as we push on towards winter: -- Tires! Get winter tires or sturdy all season tires. -- Check tire pressure regularly. Cold weather decreases your tire pressure one pound for every ten degree drop in temperature. -- Keep at least a half tank of fuel at all ti...mes in case you get stranded on the road or for other emergencies. -- Wax your car and wash it regularly paying attention to hard to reach areas like wheels, wheel wells, and underbody. -- Change and maintain your windshield wipers. NEVER use your wipers to scrape snow or ice off your windshield. -- Keep your windshield washer reservoir full and keep an extra bottle of fluid handy for when you run out. -- If the weather gets too bad don't go out unless you absolutely need to.
