At 1300 today Eaton was alerted for a house fire at 5823 Brooklyn St, dispatch stating the back of a house was on fire. Engine 163 (Asst Chief Stoddard) responded. Crews found a 2 story house with heavy fire in the rear from a fully involved 20’x20’ addition. A hand line was stretched to the fire outside and another through the first floor. The fire was knocked down in approx 20 min. Morrisville responded a tanker, engine, and ladder. Munnsville responded as the RIT along with additional tankers from Hamilton and Madison. SEVAC provided EMS and did tend to a Cat that suffered smoke inhalation.
Shortly before midnight the Eaton Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire at 4115 Route 26. Dispatch advised per the caller the bedroom is on fire with multiple calls coming in. 1603 (Asst Chief Riedl) arrived confirming a second floor fire showing from side D. The fire was believed to be contained to the room of origin. Engine 163 (Capt Horton) arrived and stretched a hand line to the fire room with knock down shorty after. 166 (Chief Clark), Morrisville 247 and 246 arrived along with Munnsville 252 as the RIT. 164 (Lt Stith) established a full site and SEVAC provided EMS standby. Crews operated for several hours on overhaul and returned to service.
At approx 0900 this morning Eaton FD and SEVAC ambulance were alerted to a 2 vehicle head on near Hamilton Hill and Landon Rd. Dispatch reporting 2 injuries, a dump truck rollover with one entrapped. 169 (Capt Horton) 163 (Capt Snyder) 164 (Asst Chief Stoddard) and 712 responded. 1603 arrived confirming a dump truck rolled over in the middle of the road and a single occupant needing extrication from a passenger car. Units arrived and completed extrication in approx 20 minutes. There was one transport to a Syracuse Hospital. Units were on scene for approx 3 hours for clean up.
