NEW VENUE! Today ECS is for the first time at ABC Studios in Manhattan for a 5:30am load in. The clients... All Access Coach & Gone West for a live early morning performance on Live with Kelly. Another early morning NYC TV show to be taken care of when an artist and/coach company has us take a trailer into NYC legally. No having to block the street (in this case 67th) leave the city and come back into the congestion for a 10-11am load out! ECS @ 607-227-1244

Load out of Deer Tick from Rough Trade in Brooklyn.... About 50% of our trailer drags are now in and out of Brooklyn...! Oh how the business has changed. Brooklyn is very similar to dealing with venues in the Village in the southern tip of Manhattan, narrow streets, tight turns with limited room to clear the cars parked from street corner to corner and 99% of the time, NO PARKING! A concern, though small for ECS (our trucks with a trailer are 40’-45’ long), but Brooklyn becomes an absolute nightmare for a Prevost with a trailer and at times impossible, even with the tags lifted... Next!

This is the result of when the bus driver gets screwed out of his Choice Privleges points cause the hotel was booked thru Experian or Hotels.com... I knew sooner or later that this would turn out bad!!

So, the street in front of the load-in at the venue is one way, one lane, parked cars taking up any chance of getting an illegal bus and trailer parked, construction barriers in the way and it’s raining! Busy, busy time for ECS. Why? Many things are changing with the trailer & bus situation in Manhattan/Brooklyn/Queens/Bronx/Staten Island... First, DOT & NYPD are now citing and ticketing coaches in NYC, not just at entry points... Tickets are being issued, over-length, parking, loading zone violations, bike lane blocking etc. Last one I’m aware of was at the PlayStation Theatre-$2200. Second, I believe the insurance providers for coaches, that are dragging trailers into t...he 5 boroughs are taking issue with claims for mirror/bumper/bay door damage and arguing to the insured that your not suppose to be in NYC, it’s against the law. So claims are being denied. Third, nearly 25% of coach companies are including in their lease agreements that trailers will not be transported in or out or NYC. A couple have in fact just stopped allowing their coaches with or without a trailer even entering NYC. Why? The cost of repairing damage & downtime for repairs are impacting profits. Fourth, it just makes good sense to not expose coach and/or trailer to possibly being ticketed, impounded, damaged. Better yet, allowing the drivers to get their sleep, uninterrupted, not searching for parking, multiple trips in & out, avoiding damage, being legal, not putting their ability to enter Canada in jeopardy, no cross loading, no waiting till 8-9am to return a rental truck... Third times the charm.... ECS drags the 3rd of 3 trailers to the Gramercy Theatre this past week... Believe it or not ECS no longer needs a GPS to find our route to the Gramercy...lol! This drag was for a Brazilian band by the name of Angra, leasing a coach from a long time client of ECS services, Dream Catcher Coach out of Ohio. NEXT?

A variety of coach companies have realized that being LEGAL when it comes to dragging a trailer behind a 45’ bus into and out of the 5 boroughs of NYC is smart, logical, coach & trailer damages are avoided, violations are non-existent, insurance providers of entertainer coaches are not alarmed that DOT laws are being broken, and that trailers are being transported in and out of NYC LEGALLY!! Hooked up in Secaucus and delivered the goods to the Mercury Lounge on Houston St....Band was Koe Wetzel out of Texas, USA.... no trailer to big, no weight to heavy, no laws broken...another artist doing it LEGALLY!!
