Thanks Google for informing us that the first traffic signal was installed 101 years ago today! Can you imagine that before that a traffic cop would stand in the intersection and manually turn a sign to control traffic? And the early traffic signals were somewhat manual in that the traffic copy had to flip a switch to change the light from green to red all day long.
