Although we weren’t supposed to do our third food basket delivery until Wednesday, the storm had different plans for us! We scrambled this past weekend and successfully delivered 100 baskets to the Dobbs Ferry Food Pantry on Sunday, so they could be distributed to local families in need over the next few days. They were incredibly grateful for Edgemont’s generosity, as we are to all of you that helped to make this month’s effort possible. We are hopeful that we will be able... to do one more food basket distribution with the funds raised, so please let us know at [email protected] if you want to help. Today, we dropped off another 50 baskets to a food pantry in Mt. Vernon, just in time to feed families in need for the holidays. This was made possible because of the donations you made to the ECC Food Drive last month. The funds raised will allow us to continue such deliveries to people in need for months to come. THANK YOU to all of the volunteers this month that helped shop, assemble, and deliver these bags. We could not have done this without you! Because of your incredible generosity, we were able to deliver over 50 food baskets yesterday to the CSA Soup Kitchen to feed local families in need over this difficult holiday season. Your tremendous support has also enabled us to continue this effort over the next few months, but we need your help! We need volunteers to assist in shopping, assembling baskets, and delivering food. We would ideally aim to do one delivery a month to a local organization th...at will distribute these baskets to our neighbors in need. Please let us know if you are able to help in any way with this effort. Whether you are part of a group that can assist in coordinating a specific month's distribution, or an individual that can help shop for an item in bulk, any assistance would be appreciated! The overwhelming response from our community to help our neighbors in need continues to show what a positive impact we can make when we all work together. Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching and while this year will undoubtedly be a different experience for us all, we hope you are planning for a happy and safe holiday. Unfortunately, many of our neighbors are not so well off and this pandemic has resulted in many families suffering and hungry. In an effort to support those in need, the ECC is proud to announce our first annual holiday food drive. We have created baskets of non-perishable items and have partnered with a local ...soup kitchen to distribute these baskets to families in need. If you'd like to sponsor a basket, please click on the link below to contribute. Each basket costs $30, and should provide several meals for each family. Our initial distribution will take place next Tuesday, 11/24, in time for Thanksgiving. If there's any excess in funds, we will continue to work with organizations throughout the holiday season to distribute food baskets so our neighbors are taken care of.
