If you've been paying attention, yesterday should be no surprise. Did you notice it took hours for the media to change their reference to these terrorists from 'protesters' to 'rioters'? Did you notice how easily white folk can pass through police armed and in violent pursuit without harm? Did you observe how not one of these terrorists were arrested until hours after damages (and one woman injured)? and not one harmed? .... Can you imagine if any of these terrorist were BIPOC? Do you remember how the capitol was prepared for the BLM protest this Summer with the national guard waiting in full gear? . Does any of this make you uncomfortable? It should at the very least. For some of us is not only discomfort but deep and generational pain. I encourage you to sit in this discomfort. Sit in this silence. Breathe in it. Observe. Acknowledge. . So much work to be done. Grateful that inspiring and just leaders have a clearer path forward as of today. How do you sustain balance during these challenging pandemic times? Yoga & Ayurveda . Ayurveda is the sister science of Yoga. Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda (science or knowledge) provides guidance an how to eat based on our natural constitutions and the seasons. It organizes plant based foods into cooling, heating, and more... E.g. Ginger (great for your immune system) creates heat in the body and it’s perfect for now to balance out the cold of Winter. May not be so during Summer when it is also hot out but also depends on your natural constitution or Doshas. It’s about balance. . For a nice overview consider this book. I met Divya Alter at my first Ayurveda cooking class in 2014. She’s not only knowledgable but her compassionate and humble approach is inspiring and her recipes delicious! Hoping I can visit her restaurant in safety in the near future. LOVING these recipes!!! Thank you @divyaalter . Want to know more about Ayurveda?
