April is Autistic Pride / Acceptance Month. How can YOU be an ally? Listen to Autistic people and raise up Autistic voices. Support Autism organizations that are led by Autistic people, such as the The Autistic Self Advocacy Network and the Autistic Women & Nonbinary Network. #REMINDER: Always remember that #autism looks different on everyone.
#REMINDER: Improving your #mentalhealth doesn't mean getting rid of #mentalillness. It doesn't mean that you aren't allowed to feel down/depressed/angry. It's all about knowing what you need on your bad days, and believing in yourself to get through them.
Friends should be there for you, but it's important to remember that they can't always be. As a friend, it's healthy and important to keep your boundaries in check. It's perfectly okay to say: "I would really like to help, but I have to focus on the problems I'm facing in my own life right now." It's not selfish, and you won't be very good help to anyone if you aren't taking care of yourself first. #HealthyBoundaries is #selfcare.
