Starting at 12:01 tonight at the Eight Square Schoolhouse, History Center Director Ben Sandberg is beginning a 24-hour marathon bike ride of Tompkins County. Our Director of Youth Education Julia Taylor, has been hard at work the last two months figuring out alternative ways to engage youth with the magic of the Eigh...t Square Schoolhouse 1892 living history program, as we've had to cancel the Kids Discover the Trail! Ithaca visits and other field trips for this semester. Hear in her own words why she loves sharing this program with the youth of Tompkins County each year. Over the last few weeks, our Youth Ambassadors, a group of 5 local teens created the "Stories from Inside", a multi-media project about our community experience...s of COVID-19. They are seeking submissions from around the County, including short video, poetry, visual art, etc that share what people are experiencing currently.
